Czech Adds 3 First Team All-American Nods to 2019 Resume

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The awards have continued to stream in for Walsh first baseman Andrew Czech over the last week as he was named Midwest Region Position Player of the Year and First Team All-Region along with three First Team All-American honors. 

The American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) along with Rawlings announced their Regional and All-American awards before the D2 College World Series began. Czech was named the top position player in the Midwest along with having a spot on the First Team Midwest All-Region Team. On Friday, Czech became the first Walsh Cavalier to be named First Team All-American by the ABCA and Rawlings. 

On top of being a First Team Midwest All-Region honoree by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and D2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA), Czech had his name show up on the First Team All-American teams for both respective organzations. 

The Twinsburg, Ohio native found himself littered throughout the rankings in the G-MAC and Division II.

  • Slugging Percentage: .823 (1st in G-MAC, 7th in D2)
  • Home Runs: 17 (2nd in G-MAC, 18th in D2)
  • Hits: 73 (T-3rd in G-MAC, 70th in D2)
  • Runs: 58 (T-3rd in G-MAC, 45th in D2)
  • Doubles: 18 (4th in G-MAC, 45th in D2)
  • RBI per game: 1.24 (20th in D2)
  • Home Runs per game: 0.33 (20th in D2)
  • Walks per game: 0.86 (29th in D2)
  • Hits per game: 1.43 (83rd in D2)

For the whole season, Czech has won nine different awards including two Player of the Years, three All-Americans, one All-Conference and three All-Region awards.
