(PAINESVILLE, Ohio) - Walsh will attempt to get back to .500 in the G-MAC as it heads north to take on Lake Erie under the lights at Jack Britt Memorial Stadium on Saturday. The Cavaliers enter this week 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference, while the Storm are looking for their first win of the season at 0-6 and 0-4.
This will be the sixth meeting all-time by the schools separated by just 75 miles. The series began in 2012 after Walsh joined the GLIAC at the beginning of its NCAA Division II era. The Storm took the first encounter 27-20 in a contest that went to overtime in Canton. Walsh fell in the next three contests before recording its first win against Lake Erie last year with a 31-7 win in Painesville.
The Cavaliers have been playing well as of late with close games against nationally-ranked Tiffin and preseason G-MAC favorite Ohio Dominican in addition to their win against Kentucky Wesleyan. The offense has received a spark from Koby Adu-Poku who has rushed over the century mark each of the last three weeks.
Additionally the defense has stepped up recently as well. Going back to the second half of the game against Tiffin, the Cavaliers have given up an average of 3.6 points per quarter in the last 10 quarters.
Kickoff from the Britt is scheduled for 7 p.m.
