INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - With the players reporting in nine days for the Walsh Cavaliers football team, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference has released the 2019 Great Midwest Football Preseason Coaches Poll presented by Under Armour on Friday (August 2) morning.

The Walsh Cavaliers were ranked fifth of eight teams by the head coaches of the G-MAC football teams, with the Cavaliers receiving 25 points total.

For the 25th season of Cavalier football, Walsh is expected to finish in the same spot as they finished in the 2018 season: fifth. Under first year head coach John Fankhauser, Walsh went 4-6 overall and 4-4 within the conference after closing the season with back-to-back wins over Alderson Broaddus and Malone.

Alderson Broaddus (21 points), Kentucky Wesleyan (12 points) and Lake Erie (8 points) round out the eight teams.

In each of the three years as a part of the G-MAC, Walsh has been selected to finish fifth every year.
