Cavaliers Fall at Hillsdale

HILLSDALE, Michigan - The Walsh Cavaliers football team battled with the Hillsdale Chargers on Saturday (Sept. 28) afternoon at Frank "Muddy" Waters Stadium in a G-MAC conference matchup. 

Despite holding Hillsdale scoreless in the first quarter, Walsh fell 30-0 to the Chargers. 

Walsh forced Hillsdale to punt on their first drive and Antoine Holloway picked off a Hillsdale pass on the second drive as the game was scoreless through the first 15 minutes. 

Hillsdale scored on a short run for the first play of the second quarter.  The Chargers added two field goals and led 13-0 at the intermission. 

The Cavaliers forced two Hillsdale punts, but Hillsdale added a late third quarter touchdown for a 20-0 lead. 

Hillsdale closed out the scoring with ten points in the fourth quarter, taking the matchup 30-0. 

Tadas Tatarunas completed nine passes for 56 yards and one interception. Quinn Thomas caught three passes for 23 yards while Logan Lindsay made two catches for 14 yards. 

Dylan Garver made a team-high eight tackles with Sal Sidebotham, Zach Sturmi and Leondre Crosby making seven tackles. Sidebotham made 1.5 sacks and Crosby accounted for 5.5 tackles for loss and 1.5 sacks on defense. 

Walsh will travel north to Painesville, Ohio for a G-MAC matchup with the Lake Erie College Storm on Saturday (Oct. 5) at 3:00 PM.
