(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – Head Coach Jeff Young and the Walsh Cavaliers will once again head down to Columbus to take on Ohio State in an exhibition to open the season. The Cavs and Buckeyes have played each other nine times in the past 10 seasons.
Walsh is coming off of a 17-11 season and a second consecutive appearance in the GLIAC semifinals, the only team to do so. Walsh returns four of five starters from a season ago and will once again see the services of Chall Montgomery and Conor Keck. Montgomery missed last season after an ACL injury while Keck missed the majority of the year because of blood clots in his lung.
Three of those starters averaged double figures with Jesse Hardin Jr. leading the team with 16.5 points per game. Trey Fletcher averaged 13.9 per clip and Zac Carter followed with 10.8 points per game.
The game will be broadcast on 95.9 FM WNPQ on tape-delay.
