Cavs Set For Season Opener With Glenville State

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – The Walsh men's basketball team is set to start its 54th season in program history on the road against Glenville State in West Virginia this evening. The Cavaliers are coming off of an impressive performance against Ohio State where they lost 92-82 in an exhibition against the Buckeyes.

The Cavs have found success in season openers with wins in the past 11 seasons. Walsh hasn't played a season opener on the road since 2011 when it traveled to Boston and defeated Fisher 82-50. Overall, Walsh is 33-20 in season openers.

Walsh and Glenville State haven't met since the 1981-82 season when the Pioneers won 53-50. The Cavaliers defeated Glenville State 61-57 the previous year. The last time the Cavs played in the Mountain State came in the 2003-04 season when they won 66-57 at Davis & Elkins.
