(MARQUETTE, Mich.) – The Walsh men's basketball team looks to carry momentum from Sunday's win against Silver Lake into tonight's GLIAC opener on the road at Northern Michigan. The Cavaliers and Wildcats both enter at 1-2.
Both teams are coming off of impressive non-conference wins. The Cavaliers blistered the nets with a 54.1 shooting percentage in a 97-50 win over Silver Lake while the Wildcats dismantled Southern Wesleyan 80-52 on neutral grounds.
Trey Fletcher picked up his first double-double of the season as he scored 22 points and 10 rebounds. He had 20 points and 10 rebounds by the end of the first half. Overall, he was four assists shy of a triple-double. Jesse Hardin Jr. added a game-high 23 points in the win as he was 7-of-9 from the field. Ditalion Battle and Zac Carter joined them in double figures with 14 and 12 points, respectively.
These teams have met three times previously. Walsh holds the overall series-lead 2-1, but will look to avenge last year's 70-61 defeat at home.
