(FINDLAY, Ohio) – Walsh fell to Findlay by a score of 79-57 in GLIAC action at Croy Gymnasium on Thursday evening. The Cavaliers fall to 9-8 overall and 7-6 within the conference. The Oilers improved to 13-5 overall and 10-3 in the GLIAC.
Trey Fletcher led the Cavaliers with a game-high 19 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Zac Carter followed with 14 points as he was 6-of-12 from the field. Chall Montgomery also pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
Both teams played a close and competitive first half as the hosts took a narrow 33-31 lead into halftime. Walsh came out in the second half and took a quick lead on a Chall Montgomery 3-pointer, but Findlay answered with a 23-3 run to take control of the game.
Walsh will return to action in a couple of days as the Cavs host Wayne State for Wall of Fame Weekend. Tip-off with the Warriors is set for 3 p.m. At halftime, the eight new inductees into the Wall of Fame will be recognized which includes former star Randall Sistrunk of the 2005 national championship team.
