(MYRTLE BEACH, S.C.) – The Walsh men's golf team wrapped up spring break with a third place finish in the Battle at the Beach hosted by Alderson Broaddus at the Palmetto Course at Myrtlewood. The Cavaliers finished with a team score of 654 after a 334 today.
The Battlers won the event after a 316 today to finish with a 639. Ohio Valley finished second in the tournament with a 645 after the best round of any team in the field with a 308.
Individually, Noah Frase finished third after he shot a 78 for both rounds for a 156. AB's Seth Vannoy was the medalist with a 151. Drew Savage was next for the Cavaliers and also finished inside the top 10 individually with a 161. He scored an 82 on the second day and tied Ohio Valley's Jed Burga to finish seventh.
Sam DiMeo finished with a 169 to jump up four spots to No. 18. He shot an 86 and an 83 over both days. Jake Barth completed the team score on day two with a 91 and finished with a 175 overall. Jon Forbes totaled a 172 between a 79 and a 93. Austin King wrapped up the break with a 179 on rounds of 83 and 96.
Walsh will return to the links in a two and a half weeks in the Spring G-MAC Tournament. The two-round event will be on March 26 and 27.
