#7 Seton Hill Too Much for Cavs in G-MAC Semifinal

GREENSBURG, Pa. – The Walsh Cavaliers men's lacrosse team concluded the 2019 season with the G-MAC Semifinal on Thursday (May 2) as the Cavaliers fell 17-6 to the number seven ranked Seton Hill Griffins.

Seton Hill scored four goals in the first quarter and the first goal of the second quarter as Seton Hill led 5-0. Brent Mitchell scored a man up goal on an assist from Brian Apshago with 11:42 left in the second quarter. Over the next six minutes, Seton Hill added three goals for an 8-1 lead. The Cavaliers closed the half with a goal from Mitchell, assisted by Kevin McMahon. The Cavaliers trailed 8-2 at the intermission. The Griffins scored two goals before Walsh stopped the streak at the 9:14 mark when Marcus Brown scored an unassisted goal. Seton Hill scored the last four goals of the third quarter as they led 14-3. In the first six minutes of the fourth, Sully Dowling scored while Apshago tallied two goals. McMahon added an assist on one of Apshago's goals during the three-goal run. Seton Hill ended the game with three goals for a 17-6 win.

Apshago and Mitchell scored two goals each while Brown and Dowling had one goal each. McMahon added two assists of his own. Jake Selvage, Mitchell and Tyler Wascovich all picked up two groundballs.

Patrick Cuddihy had a game-high nine groundballs and 18 saves in the goal.

Walsh concluded the season with a 4-10 record.
