Van Dyke Named G-MAC Offensive Player of the Week

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana - After a big week for Walsh men's soccer senior Dwight Van Dyke, he was honored as the Offensive Player of the Week on Monday (Sept. 16) by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. 

Van Dyke scored four goals with one assist in two games for the Cavaliers. Against Ashland, the senior tallied all three goals for a hat trick, including a game-winner in the 87th minute. In the home opener versus Slippery Rock, he netted the game-winning goal in the 85th minute. 

The senior leads the G-MAC with six goals, 13 points, 20 shots and two game-winning goals. In Division II, Van Dyke is second with six goals and 13 points. 

Walsh is off to a 4-0 start, the best start in the Division II era and since 1993. They travel to Malone for the conference opener on Wednesday (Sept. 18) at 4:00 PM.
