Men's Soccer Welcomes Three New Coaches to the Staff

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - Men's soccer head coach Andy Hoggarth announced the addition of three new volunteer assistant coaches to the staff for the 2019 season.

Damien Marchione, George Oakley and Jared Rose were all added to the staff after different connections to the program and the area.

"I am delighted to be able add George, Damien and Jared to our staff," said Hoggarth. "All three of them will add very good ideas and experiences to the current staff and come from varying backgrounds."

Damien Marchione

Hoggarth: "Damien is well recognized locally through his role at Canton United and is someone I have come to know during my time here at Walsh. The opportunity to have someone with Damien's background as a player and coach will provide the program with a huge boost both on and off the field and I look forward to developing a positive working relationship him as we move forward."

George Oakley

Oakley joins the staff after a Division II collegiate career. The Huddersfield, England native played four years at Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania. Recruited by Coach Hoggarth in 2015, he went onto win a PSAC conference title and be an All-Conference selection. He graduated in 2019 with a Sport Management degree from the Rock.

Hoggarth: "George was one of the first players that I brought over from England during my time as Head Coach at Slippery Rock University and was an integral part of the team that won the PSAC Championship in 2015. George had a good upbringing in the game and his knowledge and enthusiasm will transfer very well into our program."

Jared Rose

Rose has experience coaching at every level, including high school, Club, and College. He has nine years coaching at the club level with a stop at Pinecrest Premier Soccer Club in Miami, Florida. He had coached at the high school level with both boys and girls over four years, coaching Hathaway Brown, Carrollton and Immaculate La Salle. He coached at the University of Akron for three years.

He holds a USSF National "B" license.

Hoggarth: "I have known Jared since our time on the staff together at The University of Akron  where we developed a very good working relationship based around a philosophy of how we both believe the game should be played and the opportunity to have Jared join us at Walsh is a no brainer."
