OWENSBORO, Kentucky - Thursday (Oct. 17) night began a streak of four straight games on the road for the Walsh University Cavaliers men's soccer team as they traveled to Kentucky. Walsh rallied from a 2-1 deficit, only to finish with a 2-2 draw in double overtime.
Myles Cornwall opened the scoring in the 13th minute with a goal in the lower right corner, as Walsh led 1-0. Kentucky Wesleyan scored two goals in the next nine minutes for a 2-1 lead at halftime. The Cavaliers took 15 shots in the first half, compared to seven for the Panthers.
Steven Taylor tied the game at two in the 60th minute as Walsh outshot Kentucky Wesleyan 15-9 in the second half. The game was deadlocked at two after 90 minutes.
The Cavaliers took four shots in the overtime periods, three of them on target but could not capitalize. The game ended in a 2-2 draw.
Walsh won the shot battle 34-21 with 15 on goal and took seven corners in the contest.
Walsh continues the roadtrip in Nashville on Saturday (Oct. 19) as they take on the Trevecca Nazarene Trojans at 5:30 PM Eastern.
