Men's Soccer Defeats Cedarville, 2-1

DAYTON, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers men's soccer team closed out the 2019 road schedule at Wright State University on Saturday (Oct. 26) night against the Cedarville Yellow Jackets.

The Cavaliers defeated the Yellow Jackets 2-1 on a rainy night as Walsh improved to 9-4-2 overall and 5-4-2 in the G-MAC. 

Alex Jackson got the Cavs on the board in the 19th minute with a header from ten yards out. Jackson's goal was set up by a cross from Myles Cornwall. Walsh led 1-0 at halftime, despite being outshot 7-2. 

Walsh added a goal in the 76th minute as Peyton Barnes put a loose ball past the keeper, giving the Cavaliers a 2-0 advantage. Cedarville broke the shutout with a penalty kick in the 89th minute. The Cavaliers defeated the Yellow Jackets 2-1. 

The Cavaliers shot the ball five times with four shots on goal as Cedarville shot 14 times with three on goal. 

Brett Ekperuoh made two saves with one goal allowed in the goal. 

Walsh hosts Tiffin on Thursday (Oct. 31) at 5:00 PM in the first of three straight home matches.
