Men's Soccer Clinches Playoff Spot on Kett's 2OT Game-Winner

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers men's soccer team officially clinched a Great Midwest Athletic Conference playoff spot with a thrilling 1-0 win over the Findlay Oilers on Saturday (Nov. 2) afternoon for Senior Day. 

Nathan Kett netted the game-winner with 2:06 left in the second overtime period, ending the marathon scoreless battle. 

After the first 107 minutes were scoreless, Kett followed a cross from Nathan Kolke as the junior from England scored his fourth goal of the year and second game-winner in double overtime. 

Findlay won the shot battle with 19 shots in the game to Walsh's 17. Walsh outshot the Oilers in the first half (7-4) and the second overtime (3-2). The Cavaliers had four shots on goal to three for the Oilers. 

Brett Ekperuoh finished his second shutout of the season with three saves. 

Walsh closes the regular season on Tuesday (Nov. 5) against rival Malone. Kickoff from Milazzo Field is set for 7:30 PM.
