Walsh Does Well In Home Meet

(NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – The Walsh Track & Field team opened the weekend hosting its only home meet of the season in the Walsh Invitational. Despite the meet being moved up a day, plenty of Cavaliers still found themselves with impressive performances throughout the day.

On the men's side, Marcus Myers won the hammer throw with a mark of 66.23 meters. He also threw in the discus and finished fourth with a heave of 48.47 meters. Andrew Dowdell finished second in the javelin with a throw of 51.34 meters. Marcus Penza was fourth with a throw of 50.78 meters. Tommy Schwartz was seventh with a throw of 45.78 meters. Dowdell also finished fourth in the pole vault with a mark of 4.59 meters.

Solomon Yoder finished second in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.98. Bryce Patrick finished second in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 10:11.94. Bryce Ostheimer finished third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 54.85. Lane Knoch finished fifth in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.91. Hunter Williams finished sixth in the 200 meter dash with a time of 21.61.

A select group of Cavaliers will also be in action tomorrow as they take part in the Bison Classic at Bucknell.
