Men's Track & Field Excels at Otterbein's Twilight Invitational

(WESTERVILLE, Ohio) – The Walsh track and field team started a busy weekend with most of the team competing at Otterbein's Twilight Invitational today.

On the men's side, Hunter Williams placed first in the 100 meter dash with a time of 10.85. Trenton Beachy was eighth in the same event with a time of 11.31. Lane Knoch won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.61. Bryce Ostheimer was sixth with a time of 15.56 meters. Knoch also won the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 55.41. Zachary McClaskey was third in that event with a time of 56.24 meters.

Brandon Neal was second in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.34. Walsh finished third in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 43.08 meters. Trenton Beach, Lane Knoch, Zachary McClaskey and Hunter Williams ran on the team. Solomon Yoder was sixth in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:56.13.

In field events, Marcus Penza was second in the javelin with a throw of 47.44 meters. Tommy Schwartz was sixth with a throw of 42.60 meters. Varney Pelima was third in the high jump with a mark of 1.89 meters.

Ronald Robinson was third in the triple jump with a mark of 12.79 meters. Devin Wonner was fifth at 11.71 meters. Zane Tolbert was sixth with 11.30 meters. Robinson was also fifth in the long jump with a distance of 6.11 meters.

James Miller was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 15.43 meters. Dante Penza was fifth at 15.26 meters. Derek Stout was seventh at 14.87 meters. Bradley Gallitz was fifth in the hammer throw with a mark of 47.47 meters. Dante Penza was sixth at 45.51 meters, and Bucyrus Palo followed in eighth with a mark of 44.50 meters.

Walsh will be back in action tomorrow at Ohio State in the Jesse Owens Invitational.
