Men's Cross Country Takes D2 Division at All-Ohio

CEDARVILLE, Ohio - In a meet with schools from Divisions I, II, III and NAIA, the #17 Walsh men's cross country team flexed their muscles for the second straight week. 

The Cavaliers won the Division II/NAIA division 8k race, as they finished in fourth overall in the meet. Overall, Walsh had all five scoring finishers in the top 52 while the Cavaliers had five in the top 16 for the D2 Division. 

Drew Roberts finished ninth overall (second in D2/NAIA) for the second consecutive week, leading the way with a time of 25:42.7. Jacob Caniford was 24th overall and fifth in the D2/NAIA as he ran a time of 26:11.6. Noah Murray was third for the Cavaliers, coming in 26th overall and eighth in D2/NAIA on a final time of 26:13.4. Ed Walsh's time of 26:26.7 put him 36th overall and tenth in the D2/NAIA division. Jared Bugaj rounded out the scoring positions in 52th (16th in D2/NAIA) with a time of 26:47.1. 

In the open 8K race, Walsh finished fifth of 19 teams. Joey Buehner was ninth overall, running the 8K race in 27:38.4. Nathan Hadley was not far behind in 11th, with a time of 27:42.3. 

A two-week layoff will allow Walsh to prepare for the Conference Crossover at Lewis University on October 12th.
