Cavs Drop Two to ODU

(NORTH CANTON, OHIO)- The Cavaliers (13-11, 2-2-) dropped two games to former Great Lakes Intercollegiate Conference opponent Ohio Dominican (11-16, 2-2) on a breezy spring afternoon. The Panthers won by scores of 12-3 and 14-0.

Walsh held the Panthers close in Game One until the seventh. Walsh was down 6-0 when Annie Dehnke singled up the middle scoring Cali Frascone who was pinch running for Jessie Rock who doubled to lead off the sixth. An error by the centerfielder allowed Brooke Six and Katie Gray to score. Olivia Pifer (8-5) took the loss in the circle for the Cavaliers. Rock was 2-2 with a double.

The Panthers ended Game Two early by way of the run-rule. Walsh was held scoreless. Dehnke was 2-2 with a double and single. Alex Depue and Rock each recorded a hit. Shelbi Gregg recorded the loss for the Cavaliers.

Rock was 3-4 with a double and a walk. Dehnke was 3-5 with a double, single and RBI on the day.

The Cavaliers are back in action Friday as they travel to take on the Storm of Lake Erie. First pitch is set for 3 p.m.
