Walsh Downed by Pioneers

(CANTON, OHIO)- Walsh (17-17, 6-8) was unable to comeback against Malone (12-8, 5-5) dropping two games on a sunny Friday afternoon in Canton. The Pioneers defeated the Cavaliers by scores of 4-1 and 4-2.

The Cavaliers were able to get the offense going in Game One recording eight hits. A pinch-hit single by Hailey Warren allowed Brooke Six to score in the fourth inning. Six led off the fourth inning with a walk. Jessie Rock a was 2-3 with a walk while Alaina Manor was 2-4.

Olivia Pifer (11-7) took the loss in the circle striking out 5 and surrendering eight hits.

Walsh outhit the Pioneers in Game Two with a 11 hits, three of them being extra-base hits. Rock put Walsh on the board with her fourth home run of the season going to center field. The Cavaliers scored their second run of the came in seventh inning when Rock scored on a wild pitch. Katie Gray was 3-3 while Rock and Annie Woolf were both 2-4.

Shelbi Gregg (2-8) started the game for the Cavaliers going 2.1 innings striking out two and scattering four hits. Katie Herrick pitched the final 3.2 innings in the circle.

Rock was 4-7 with a home run, an RBI, and two runs scored.

The Cavaliers are back in action Monday as they travel to Pepper Pike to take on Ursuline. The double header is set to start at 3:30 p.m.
