Women's Golf Sets New Program Record at CT Classic

(PATASKALA, OHIO)- The Walsh University Women's Golf team set a new program 18 hole record this weekend at the CT Classic. The 16 team, 36 hole event was played at Cumberland Trails in Pataskala. The Cavaliers shot 308 on day one to set a new 18 hole program record. They followed their impressive day one total with a 320 on day two to place them 6th overall. 

Leading the way for the Maroon and Gold was Freshmen Madison Ardelean who finished tied for seventeenth place overall with rounds of 75-79. Sophomore Maria Contreras Luna would help pace the Cavs on day one with an opening round of 74, a career best. She would add an 82 on the final round and place tied for twenty third in the event.  Isabelle Castro carded an 81 in her first round and would improve on day two with a 77.  Francesca Sberna would be next in line for Cavaliers after posting rounds of 78 and 84. Alexis Green rounded out the Cavalier lineup with rounds of 84 and 82. Grace Thompson competed in the event as an individual and carded rounds of 84 and 90 respectively. 

Three Cavaliers would shoot their collegiate low scores on day one of the event: Madison Ardelean, Maria Contreras Luna and Francesca Sberna

Tiffin University took home first place in the event after carding rounds of 292 and 310. 

The Cavs tee it up this weekend in Big Rapids at the Bulldog Invite hosted by Ferris State at Katke Golf Course.
