(MURFREESBORO, Tennessee)- The Walsh University Women's Golf team traveled to Nashville to compete in the Music City Invite on Monday and Tuesday. The Cavaliers placed in eighth place overall for the thirteen team event after firing rounds of 319 and 315.
Isabelle Castro would guide her team over the two day event. Placing sixteenth overall after her round one 76, Castro would go on to back that up in round two after carding a 77. She added 4 birdies to her 36 hole total. Maria Contreras Luna and Francesca Sberna would finish tied for forty-third place in the event after posting 36 hole totals of 160. Contreras Luna would post 79-81 while Sberna shot 83-77. Alexis Green kept it consistent after posting rounds of 82 and 80 for the Maroon and Gold. Madison Ardelean would round out the Cavalier line up after tallying 82 and 85. Grace Thompson would compete in the event as an individual and add rounds of 83 and 86 respectively for the Cavs.
The Cavs would tally a combined 9 birdies in the first round alone. Their 4 stroke improvement on day two would help jump them up one spot by the end of the day to finish eighth.
The University of Indianapolis would take home the tournament champion title after firing impressive rounds of 291 and 275.
The Maroon and Gold wrap up their Fall season Monday at Glenmoor Country Club for the Phipps Invite.
