NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Walsh University women's lacrosse team faced one of their toughest G-MAC opponents tonight (April 4) in the Findlay Oilers. The Cavaliers were defeated 16-6, to put their overall record at 8-3 and their conference record at 0-1.
Grace Andreski scored the first goal of the game at the 29 minute mark to give the Cavs their first and only lead of the contest. Findlay scored two consecutive goals, when Skylar Crandell answered to tie the game in the 24th minute of the first half. The Oilers then scored four consecutive goals, until Hannah McFeeters scored the final goal of the half to cut the lead to three heading into halftime.
The Oilers came out of halftime scoring six consecutive goals in eight minutes. Kendra Cowen-Tripp stopped the run at the 19 minute mark when she scored her first goal of the contest. Walsh and Findlay traded goals for the remainder of the contest, with McFeeters scoring the final two goals for the Cavs.
McFeeters led with three goals, while Sarah Dankowski picked up a team-best five groundballs.
Senior goalie Mikaela Faus surpassed her 500th career save, with 15 saves on the evening.
The Cavaliers will take on another G-MAC opponent Saturday (April 6) when they face Tiffin University at 2:00 PM on Vasco Field.
