Walsh ended the season with a 2-1 defeat at Michigan Tech on Sunday afternoon. The Cavaliers end the season at 9-6-2 overall and 5-6-2 in their first season in the GLIAC. The Huskies improves to 13-3-1 overall and 11-1-1 in the conference.
Jessie Gearhart’s (5-9, Fr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) team-leading seventh goal of the season was all the Cavs (9-5-2, 5-5-2) needed in a 1-0 win over host Northern Michigan University (3-13, 2-10) today in a Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest. The Cavs close the season on Sunday at 12 pm at Michigan Tech.
The University of Findlay (7-6-1, 7-3-1) spolied Walsh's (8-5-2, 4-5-2) Senior Day by blanking the Cavs 3-0. The loss snapped the Cavs three-game winning streak.
Walsh kicked off Homecoming Weekend in good fashion with another 1-0 shutout, this time at the expense of Tiffin, on a windy and rainy afternoon at Milazzo Field. The Cavaliers (8-4-2, 4-4-2) are now 6-1 in games decided by one goal with all six wins coming by shutout. The Dragons are now 5-7-2 overall and fall to 3-5-2 in the GLIAC.
Two goals by Erin Peskura (Fr., 5-4, Strongsville, OH/HS) made it a perfect week for Walsh as it went on to defeat rival Malone 3-1 in GLIAC action. The Cavaliers, who also defeated Cedarville on Thursday, are now 7-4-2 overall and 3-4-2 in the conference. The Pioneers drop to 1-10-1 overall and 0-8-1 in the GLIAC.
Walsh was only able to get a couple of shots on goal in its game against Cedarville, but one counted in the most important way as it gave the Cavaliers a 1-0 win Thursday evening. The Cavs are now 6-4-2 on the season and have won all six contests via shutout. The Yellow Jackets drop to 4-8-1.
Walsh lost its third staight game, falling 3-0 today to Ashland University (4-9, 3-5) in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action. The loss drops the Cavs to 2-4-2 in the GLIAC and to 5-4-2 overall. The Cavs are back in action next Thursday night, when they host Cedarville University in a non-conference game at 7 pm at Len Milazzo Field.
Walsh (5-3-2, 2-3-1) was bested 3-1 by Ohio Dominican University (6-4-2, 2-3-2) in Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at Panther Field tonight. The loss was the second straight for the Cavs, who play GLIAC foe Ashland University on the road Sunday at 2 p.m.
Walsh ended its four-game home stand with a 3-0 defeat by the No. 8 team in the nation in Grand Valley State University. The Lakers (9-0-2, 5-0-1) scored three first-half goals to go ahead and remain unbeaten on the year. The Cavaliers (5-2-2, 2-2-2) ended their first four-game stand at Milazzo Field on the plus side with a 2-1-1 record following two wins last weekend and a draw with Ferris State on Friday.
Walsh opened up the weekend with a 1-1 draw with visiting Ferris State on a chilly evening at Milazzo Field. The Cavaliers are now 5-1-2 overall and 2-1-2 in the GLIAC. The Bulldogs battled to their third tie of the season and now stand 3-3-3 overall and are tied with Walsh in the conference standings.
Another early goal provided the difference for Walsh as the Cavaliers scored a 1-0 victory over Lake Erie on a cool Sunday afternoon. The Cavs improve to 5-1-1 overall and 2-1-1 in the GLIAC and are now 9-0 all-time against the Storm (1-6-1, 0-3-1).
Walsh notched its first win in the GLIAC conference standings as the Cavaliers defeated visiting Notre Dame 1-0 at Milazzo Field. The Cavaliers improve to 4-1-1 overall and 1-1-1 in the conference. The Falcons now stand at 2-5 and 1-3 in the conference
Walsh went into Saginaw Valley State and was able to come out with a 2-2 draw in double overtime on Sunday afternoon. The Cavaliers, ranked No. 9 in the recent NSCAA Midwest Region poll, are now 3-1-1 overall and 0-1-1 in the conference. The Cardinals played in their second draw of the season and are now 2-1-2 overall and 1-0-1 in the GLIAC.
Walsh University was handed its first loss of the season as Northwood won at home by a score of 2-1 in GLIAC action. The Cavaliers fall to 3-1 overall and 0-1 in the GLIAC. It was their first conference game that counts in the GLIAC standings. Hosts Northwood improved to 1-3 overall and 1-0 in the conference.
The freshman class continues to come up big for the Walsh Cavaliers as they recorded another shutout on the young season, this time by a 1-0 count at Ursuline College. The Cavs improve to 3-0 and gave the Arrows their first loss of the season as they dropped to 2-1.
With a pair of second half goals, Walsh remained unbeaten on the young season with a 2-0 defeat of rival Malone. The Cavaliers improved to 2-0 overall while the Pioneers fell to 1-2.
Jessica Gearhart (Fr., 5-9, Wadsworth, OH/HS) started her college career on an excellent note as she scored the only goal in a 1-0 victory over Roberts Wesleyan at Milazzo Field. Walsh (1-0) has now defeated the Redhawks (0-1) three consecutive times dating back to last season, including two straight 1-0 decisions.
