  • Five Cavs Earn OCSA Honors

    A quintet of Cavaliers have earned postseason honors for the Walsh women’s soccer team as they have been named to the OCSA All-Ohio and Academic All-Ohio Teams.

    Walsh University Head Coach Dave Renard has announced the signing of one additional student-athlete to his 2016 class. Olivia Peters, a forward from Glenbrook South High School in Glenview, Ill., has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Cavaliers.
  • Women's Soccer Signs Eight To Class of '16

    The Walsh University women’s soccer program is welcoming eight newcomers for the upcoming 2016 season as announced by Head Coach David Renard. The Cavaliers add Caitlin Branthwaite, Alisha Himes, Siobhan LaPierre, Patty Lamanna, Mickey McClanahan, Alexis Meffert, Rachel Repasky, and Brianna Sanborn.
  • Women's Soccer Team To Hold Winter Camp

    Women’s Soccer Head Coach Dave Renard has announced a winter college ID camp on Friday, Jan. 29, and Saturday, Jan. 30, for aspiring college soccer players looking to gain experience of competing at the college level.
  • Berger Selected To NSCAA All-Midwest Region Team

    Sarah Berger earned postseason honors for her work on the pitch in 2015 as she was named to the NSCAA NCAA Division II All-Midwest Region Team. Berger was a selected to the third team and one of 11 GLIAC players to earn the honor.
  • Gearhart, Conti Named to All-GLIAC Team

    Senior teammates Jessie Gearhart and Kristen Conti have earned All-GLIAC accolades following their impressive 2015 campaign for Walsh. The duo combined for 19 of the team’s 24 goals and 43 of the team’s 65 points.
  • Cavs Fall To Malone In 1-0 Heartbreaker

    In arguably one of the most important games between the two rivals in their history, Malone made a second half goal stand up as it defeated Walsh 1-0. It was a win-or-go-home situation for the Pioneers (7-11, 5-7), while the Cavaliers (6-8-3, 4-7-1) needed to at least tie to advance.
  • Stucky Named GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week

    The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) has announced its weekly awards heading into the final week of the regular season. Michigan Tech senior forward Lexi Herrewig earned GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week honors, while Walsh senior goalkeeper Michaella Stucky claimed GLIAC Defensive Player of the Week accolades.
  • Cavs Beat Tiffin To Set Up "Playoff" Game With Malone

    Walsh kept its GLIAC Tournament hopes alive with a much-needed win over Tiffin by a score of 4-1 at Paradiso Fields Sunday afternoon. Jessie Gearhart had a big game for the Cavaliers (6-7-3, 4-6-1) with two goals and one assist in the win against the Dragons (3-10-2, 1-9-1).
  • Cavs Limit No. 3 Grand Valley, But Fall 1-0

    The Walsh women’s s soccer team did something only one other team has done all season. That was limiting No. 3 Grand Valley State to one goal. Unfortunately for the Cavaliers, it was all the Lakers needed to stay undefeated in the GLIAC with a 1-0 decision.
  • ODU Upends Walsh 1-0

    Offensive opportunities were limited for Walsh as it fell 1-0 to Ohio Dominican in GLIAC action on a chilly Sunday afternoon at Milazzo Field. The Cavaliers fall to 5-6-3 overall and 3-5-1 in the conference. The Panthers improved their playoff positioning and are now 8-6 overall and 7-2 in the GLIAC.
  • Overtime Unkind To Walsh Against Ashland

    With a touch on the right side of the box by Deijah Swihart just a few minutes into overtime, Ashland (10-2, 6-2) scored the golden goal in a 2-1 win against the Cavaliers (5-5-3, 3-4-1). It was the fifth overtime game this season for Walsh which is 1-1-3 in those games.
  • Walsh Topped By Tiffin 2-0
    October 16, 2015
    Walsh dropped to Tiffin for the second time this season with a 2-0 loss this evening at Milazzo Field. The Cavaliers fall to 3-10 overall and 1-9 in the GLIAC while the Dragons improved to 7-5-2 overall and evened themselves in the GLIAC at 5-5.
  • Cavs Equal Storm 0-0

    On the plus side today, Michaella Stucky and the Walsh defense pitched its fourth shutout of the season against Lake Erie College this afternoon. The negative side is that the Storm recorded its first as the two teams fought to a 0-0 draw.
  • Cavs Drop Close Contest To Cards 2-1

    Walsh dropped a tough contest to hosting Saginaw Valley by a score of 2-1 in GLIAC action at Braddock Field Friday afternoon. It’s the Cavaliers (5-4-2, 3-3) first loss in their last four contests while the Cardinals (4-7, 2-5) broke a five-game losing streak.

    A late goal by Jessie Gearhart made sure Walsh avoided an upset-minded Findlay as the Cavaliers took home a 3-2 victory on a chilly Friday night at MIlazzo Field. The Cavs (5-3-2, 3-2) remained unbeaten at home and have won three-straight, while the Oilers (1-6-2, 0-3-1) remain in search of their first GLIAC win.
  • Women's Soccer Scores High In The Classroom

    Seven Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) women's soccer teams were recognized on the academic achievement list led by Northwood who maintained a 3.56 grade-point average during the 2014-15 academic years. Walsh University was second on the list with a 3.51 GPA.
  • Swift Goal Lifts Cavs Past 'Cats

    A Corynne Swift (Fr., Loveland, Ohio/HS) golden goal in double overtime kept Walsh unbeaten at home with a 2-1 win against Northern Michigan in GLIAC action Sunday afternoon. The Cavaliers (4-3-2, 2-2) had to come from behind to do so, but were quick to counter the Wildcats’ (0-7, 0-3) score to set up overtime.
  • Berger's Early Goal Tames Michigan Tech

    An early first half goal was enough to put Walsh past Michigan Tech as it was the only goal of the game at Milazzo Field Friday evening. It was the Cavaliers (3-3-2, 1-2) first-ever win over the Huskies (3-3, 0-2) as they avenged a double-overtime loss in the regular season and a defeat in the quarterfinals of the GLIAC playoffs.
  • Women's Soccer Shut Out By Ferris State

    Ferris State scored the only two goals of the game in the first 31 minutes as Walsh fell in GLIAC action on Sunday afternoon. The Cavaliers dropped to 2-3-2 overall and are 0-2 in the conference while the Bulldogs improved to 5-2 overall and 2-0 in the GLIAC.
  • Cavs Tripped Up At Northwood Despite Two Conti Goals

    A two-goal performance by Kristen Conti (Sr., Hartville, Ohio/Lake) wasn’t enough for Walsh to overcome Northwood as the Cavaliers fell 3-2 at Dean Field Friday afternoon. The Cavs are now 2-2-2 on the season while the Timberwolves got their first win of the season and are now 1-2-1. Both teams were playing in their first GLIAC contest.
  • Gearhart Earns GLIAC Player of the Week Honors

    Jessie Gearhart (Sr., Wadsworth, Ohio/HS) has been selected the GLIAC Women’s Soccer Offensive Player of the Week for Week 2. Gearhart had an incredible week in which she scored four goals in three games as Walsh went unbeaten in three games.
  • Women's Soccer Draws With Daemen 0-0

    Sunday afternoon’s game between Walsh and Daemen was a defensive stalemate as both squads played to a scoreless tie at Dimp Wagner Stadium. The Cavaliers are now 2-1-2 while the Wildcats are still searching for their first win at 0-2-1.
  • Quick Start Helps Cavs Run By Bengals

    It didn’t take long for Walsh to jump up on Maine-Fort Kent as it scored two goals in the first five minutes en route to a 3-1 victory Friday afternoon at Milazzo Field. With the win, the Cavaliers (2-1-1) dealt the Lady Bengals (7-1) their first loss on the season and first in their last 13 games.
  • Extra Time Not Enough For Cavs and Point Park

    Extra time wasn’t enough as Walsh and Point Park fought to a 2-2 draw in non-conference action Wednesday night at Milazzo Field. Jessie Gearhart (Sr., Wadsworth, Ohio/HS) scored two second-half goals for the Cavaliers (1-1-1), but the Pioneers (2-0-1) were able to defer numerous scoring opportunities by Walsh.
  • Gearhart Scores Pair in Win Against Fairmont State

    The Walsh women’s soccer team had little trouble with Fairmont State in a 4-0 shutout on a hot Saturday afternoon at Milazzo Field. The Cavaliers (1-1) scored in the third minute on a penalty kick and never looked back against the Falcons (0-1) who were playing in their first contest in program history.
  • Women's Soccer Shut Down At Gannon

    Walsh dropped its first season opener in seven seasons with a 3-1 loss at Gannon Thursday evening. The Cavaliers were 4-0-2 in their last six openers, but couldn’t get a result against the Golden Knights who were also playing in their first game of the season.
  • Women's Soccer Kicks Off 28th Season Thursday Night

    The women’s soccer team will open up its 28th season tomorrow against a team it hasn’t played since its first two. Walsh and Gannon played each other twice back in 1988 and 1989 as the Golden Knights earned 4-0 decisions in both contests.
  • Women's Soccer Picked Seventh In GLIAC

    The 2015 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Women's Soccer Preseason Coaches Poll has been announced. Grand Valley State is projected atop the league after capturing back-to-back national titles in 2014, while Ohio Dominican is predicted to finish second after earning a share of last year's GLIAC regular-season title. Walsh has been picked to finish seventh in the 13-team field.
