Women's Soccer Lands Four on Midwest All-Region Team

(KANSAS CITY, Missouri) - The United Soccer Coaches Association announced the recipients of the 2018 NCAA Division II Women's All-Midwest Region Teams. The Cavaliers landed four players on the list, tying Grand Valley State with the most players from a team.

Earning Second Team honors was Junior standout Brianna Sanborn. Sanborn led the Cavaliers with 13 goals on the season, 2 of which were game winning goals. She also contributed 7 assists on the year.

Junior Goalkeeper Mickey McClanahan received Third Team honors for the season.  Her impactful defensive plays helped her rack up 61 total saves on the season giving her a .824 save percentage. McClanahan was 9/1 overall on shutout games for the season and 7/1 in shutouts in conference play.  Senior Corynne Swift had an impressive season for the Maroon and Gold. Her intense and consistent defense all season was a huge factor in the Cavalier success. She also contributed 1 goal and 3 assists for the year. Sophomore Hannah Bowman rounds out the lineup of Cavaliers receiving Third Team honors. Scoring 2 goals, one of which was a game winner, and 2 assists, Bowman aided in the Cavaliers dominating success this season.
