PHILIPPI, West Virginia - The roads of West Virginia took the Walsh Cavaliers women's soccer team to Alderson Broaddus University on Thursday (Sept. 26) evening for a G-MAC contest.
The Cavaliers dominated offensively as they rolled to a 2-1 win over the Battlers.
Grace Moore scored her first collegiate goal in the 35th minute, tabbing Walsh to a 1-0 lead. Walsh took nine shots in the first half, posting a 1-0 lead at halftime.
The Cavaliers made it 2-0 in the 66th minute on a goal from Brianna Sanborn, assisted by Alisha Himes. Two minutes later, the Battlers cut the lead in half with an unassisted goal. The final score was 2-1 in favor of the Cavs.
Walsh outshot Alderson Broaddus 15-2 in the second half and finished with a 24-2 shot advantage.
Mickey McClanahan faced only two shots on goal, allowing one goal.
The Cavaliers will have a week off before jumping back into conference play as they host Ursuline next Thursday (Oct. 3) at 7:00 PM.
