Women's Soccer Upsets #21 Findlay, 2-1

NORTH CANTON, Ohio - The Walsh Cavaliers women's soccer team pulled a shocker on Senior Day as the Cavaliers upset the #21 Findlay Oilers 2-1 on Saturday (Nov. 2) afternoon. 

Walsh improved to 12-4 overall and 9-2 in the conference, while handing the Oilers their first loss of the season. 

Hannah Bowman opened the scoring in the 31th minute with her fourth goal of the season. Walsh led 1-0 at the half, despite being outshot 5-4. 

Following a penalty in the box, senior Olivia Peters nailed a penalty kick in the 83rd minute as the Cavaliers led 2-0 with under ten to go. Findlay cut the lead in half in the 86th minute with a goal. 

Walsh scored two goals on eight shots (three on goal) against a defense that only yielded four goals all season prior to Saturday. 

Mickey McClanahan faced 11 shots, with six on goal and five saves.

The regular season will conclude on Tuesday (Nov. 5) with a G-MAC matchup with Malone at 5:00 PM.
