Dave Renard (82-49-17) begins his ninth season as head coach and his 10th overall as part of the program. He served the first two years as an assistant for his wife and former head coach Sara Renard in 2009 and 2010. Under his guidance, the Cavaliers have become a formidable foe for any opponent on the schedule.

Last season, Renard guided the Cavaliers to a 15-5-1 finish, including an appearance in the G-MAC championship and appearance in the NCCA tournament. This marked the program's first NCAA tournament bid and first NCAA post-season victory when the Cavs defeated Saginaw Valley (1-0) in the initial round of the regional tournament. Renard saw eight players named to the G-MAC All-Conference Team and four players named to the Midwest All-Region Team.

During the 2017 season, Walsh finished 15-4 overall with an 11-3 record in its first season in the G-MAC. The Maroon and Gold reached the posteason for the third consecutive season and advanced to the G-MAC semifinals. The record was Walsh's best in program history on the strength of 12 shutouts.

The year before Renard led the Cavs to an 10-6-4 overall record and a berth in the GLIAC Tournament for the second consecutive season. The Cavs were 4-4-3 in conference action and recorded the fewest goals per game in program history with the help of eight shutouts. Walsh advanced to the semifinals for its best finish ever in its final season as a member of the GLIAC. The Cavaliers advanced that far after an 2-1 upset win over Ashland on the road. In 2011, he led the team to a 13-5 record. The 13 wins tied the 2007 squad for second most in the programs history.

He previously served as a staff coach at Canton/Cleveland United. Renard holds an NSCAA National Diploma passed with distinction.

He previously served as an assistant soccer coach at both Stow High School and Cuyahoga Falls High School, while he served as a financial operations manager at Xpress Loan Servicing. Renard played baseball and soccer at Northern York High School in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. He lettered four years in soccer at Malone College while earning All-Conference and Team MVP honors. He earned his BA in business administration from Malone in 2004.

David and his wife Sara reside in Stow with their two daughters, Mia and Marie, and son, Tyler.
