(OWENSBORO, Ky.) – Walsh's bid for the G-MAC Tournament Championship fell short as it fell to Hillsdale 5-1 at Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday. The Cavaliers end the season at 11-11, while the Chargers now stand at 14-4.
Hillsdale jumped out to a 2-0 lead with quick wins at second and third doubles before Walsh scored its only point of the match at the top spot. There Mercedes Fernandez and Clara Drasch defeated Halle Hyman and Hannah Cimpeanu 8-1.
From there, the Chargers jumped up early in one-on-one action and took wins at sixth, third, and fifth singles to end the match.
Katarina Razum was close to giving the Cavs a second point, but the match ended just before she could finish off Corinne Prost and was up 6-4, 5-4
