(KENT, Ohio) – Walsh prepared for the GLIAC Indoor Championships this week at the Kent State Tune-Up. Once again multiple records were broken as athletes continue to record personal bests and set school marks.
Sarah Berger (Fr., Wadsworth, OH/HS) impressed in the mile run as she took home first place with a time of 5:00.37. It was the third time this season she has broke her own school record.
Hannah Luke (Fr., Massillon, OH/Perry) had a big day with a pair of school records. She set the new mark in the 60 meter dash with a time of 7.91. She followed that up with the record in the 200 meter dash with a time of 25.82.
Kaitlin Barber (Fr., Toledo, OH/Whitmer) hit a season best in the pole vault with a height of 3.68 meters. Her previous best was 3.55 meters, which is the provisional mark to qualify for the NCAA championships.
Elsewhere, Meredith Fennell (Fr., Canal Fulton, OH/Northwest) finished fourth in the long jump with a distance of 5.30 meters.
The GLIAC Championships will be a week from today and will be hosted by Saginaw Valley State.
