Walsh Resumes Season At Edinboro

(EDINBORO, Pa.) – The Walsh track and field team returned to action this weekend with its first meet of the calendar year in the Al Hall Invitational hosted by Edinboro. While the event wasn't scored for teams, plenty of the Cavaliers had outstanding placements in individual events.

On the women's side, Kaitlin Barber finished second in the pole vault. Her best height was 3.45 meters and finished .23 meters behind the event's first place finisher. Barber wasn't finished though as she was on Walsh's fourth place 4x400 meter relay squad that ran a time of 4:15.40. Barber ran the second leg. Others participating on the team were Lauren Bower, Karley Dougherty and Margaret Liberatore.

Malia Turley turned in a third place finish in the 60 meter dash. She ran the finals in 8.19 second.

Other top placers included Jetaiya Smith in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:00.11 and Kendra Zbinovec in the shot put with a distance of 12.61 meters. Both were good for fourth place finishes.

Walsh returns to action when it takes part in the Youngstown State Invitational on Friday.
