(YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio) – The Walsh track and field team continued its season today and made the short trip east to Youngstown to participate in the YSU Invitational. On the women's side, Sarah Berger impressed as she ran the 3,000 meter event for the first time ever and broke a school record in the process.
Berger was second in the run and was followed closely by Catie Campbell who finished third. Berger completed the race in 10:15.68 and was barely edged out by Dee Dee Adams from Division I Pittsburgh by .05 of a second. Campbell finished with a time of 10:22.02.
Kendra Zbinovec finished third in the shot put with a distance of 13.41 meters with two Division I athletes ahead of her. She also finished sixth in the weight throw with a distance of 14.53 meters. Kaitlyn Barber also finished third in the pole vault with her best vault coming in at 3.60 meters.
Meredith Fennell was seventh in the long jump. Her best jump came in at 5.19 meters.
