Berger Sets New Mark In Mile, Barber Clears Provo In Pole Vault

(FINDLAY, Ohio/ALLENDALE, Mich.) – The Walsh track and field teams had a busy day with the squads split between the Grand Valley State Big Meet and Findlay's Eighth Annual Elite Throws Competition. Both events feature a wealth of talent, and while the Cavaliers may have not placed in many events, personal bests did highlight the day.

For the women, Sarah Berger continued her impressive year with a personal best and broke her own school record in the mile run with a time of 4:53.3. Kendra Zbinovec was fourth in the shot put with a throw of 13.30 meters. Kaitlyn Barber won the pole vault at Findlay with a jump of 12'7.5" and cleared the NCAA provisional mark for the event.

The Cavaliers return to action next week at the Kent State Tune Up. It will be the last indoor meet before the GLIAC Championships.
