(PITTSBURGH) – In a couple of last chance meets, Walsh athletes turned in many impressive performances with numerous personal records. The Cavaliers squads were split between meets at Grand Valley State and Allegheny.
On the women's side, All-American Sarah Berger turned in a school record performance in the 800 meter run. She ran the two-lap race in 2:11.06 that also set a stadium record at the Gator Invitational. Fellow All-American Kaitlyn Barber also won the pole vault with a height of 3.70 meters.
Elsewhere at the Gator Invitational, Katie Mokros had a strong day with a second place finish in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.17 and a fifth place finish in the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.27.
Meredith Fennell was second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.40, Breanne Bakan was third in the 1,500 meter run with a time of 4:53.61 for a personal record, Tori Reeves was third in the 5,000 meter run with a time of 18:05.99 for a personal record, and Karley Dougherty was sixth in the javelin with a throw of 35.01 meters.
Kendra Zbinovec participated in Grand Valley's Second To Last Chance Meet and placed fourth in the shot put to reach the NCAA provisional mark with a throw of 13.63 meters.
