(COLUMBUS, Ohio) – Walsh wrapped up a busy weekend with Cavaliers at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific and the Jesse Owens Invitational at Ohio State.
On the final day of the Bryan Clay Invitational, both Sarah Berger and Andra Lehotay ran in the 1,500 meter run. The loaded field featured athletes from strong Division I powers and athletes sponsored by Nike. After all was said and done, Berger finished 20th with a time of 4:20.92 and Lehotay was 33rd with a time of 4:23.58.
Not only did Berger finish as the top Division II athlete, but she also beat Carolina Kurgat of Alaska Anchorage who turned in the only other automatic qualifying mark of the season with a 4:21.18. Together Berger and Lehotay rank in the top five in the nation.
Back in Columbus, Kaitlyn Barber finished third in the pole vault with a height of 3.97 meters. It currently ranks fifth in the nation.
The Cavaliers will return to action next week with the Gina Relays at Hillsdale and the Alumni Invitational at Ashland.
