Loucks Named G-MAC East Division Player of the Week

(INDIANAPOLIS) – The Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced its Players of the Week honors for volleyball today and Walsh's Lauren Loucks had won the accolades for the league's East Division. The junior outside hitter had a stellar week to lead the conference in overall hitting percentage and kills per set.

Loucks led the Maroon and Gold to dominating wins against Davis & Elkins on Friday and Alderson Broaddus on Saturday. Both of the matches were over fast as the Cavaliers went through both teams in three sets.

The offense was paced by Loucks who totaled 29 kills on 51 attempts for a combined average of .571. Thirteen of those kills came against the Senators with no errors. She followed with a powerful 16 kills against the Battlers on 30 attempts.

Loucks now ranks third in the G-MAC in kills per set with 3.53 and sixth in points per set.

The Cavs will be back in action this weekend with a trio of matches. First up will be a road trip to Tiffin on Tuesday. First serve with the Dragons is set for 7 p.m.
