Cavs Fall In Battle Between Top G-MAC Teams

(TIFFIN, Ohio) – A battle between two of the top teams in the G-MAC didn't go Walsh's way as it fell to Tiffin in three sets 25-22, 25-16, and 25-22. The Cavaliers (7-7, 4-2) entered and left the day in second place in the East Division, while the Dragons (11-3, 6-0) moved into first place in the West Division.

Tiffin jumped out to early in each set and was able to hold off each comeback attempt by the Cavaliers. The Maroon and Gold were almost able to force a fourth set by tying the Dragons at 21-all in the third after a kill by Lauren Loucks, but the hosts went on to score four of the next five points for the win.

Loucks was held to single digits with nine kills to equal Hallie Schroeder for team-high honors. Olivia Zanolli made 36 assists to aid the offense.

On the defensive side, Amanda Adoranti dug up 15 attacks to lead a quartet of Cavaliers in double figures. Paola Ferrario added 14, while Zanolli and Schroeder picked up 10.

Tiffin was led by Jenna Huffman with 15 kills and a .560 attack percentage.

The Cavs will stay in cross-divisional play as they host Trevecca Nazarene and Kentucky Wesleyan this weekend to start a four-match home stand.
