(INDIANAPOLIS) – After starting the season in excellent fashion with a pair of wins at the National Catholic Meet, Walsh sports both of the G-MAC's Athletes of the Week for this week. Andra Lehotay was named for the women's team ranked No. 13 in the nation, while Mark Hadley took the honors for the men's squad ranked No. 19.
Lehotay picked up where she left off from last season to finish first among the non-Division I group with a time of 18:01.23 to edge out teammate Brianna Coy for top honors. Lehotay was so fast that she placed ninth overall in the field that included Division I runners as well.
On top of that, Lehotay's time in the 5K race ranks in the top 10 all-time in G-MAC history at No. 8.
Hadley finished in similar fashion as he breezed through the flat course with a time of 25:30.16 to finish as the top non-Division I thinclad. His time was good enough to finish No. 13 in the overall field.
Lehotay, Hadley, and the rest of the Cavaliers will return to action next weekend when they take part in the All-Ohio Championships at the University of Akron. It will be the closest meet to Walsh in the regular season until the Cavs host the G-MAC Championships.
