NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana - The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released the latest 2019 NCAA DII Cross Country Midwest Regional Rankings on Tuesday (Oct. 1) and the 2019 NCAA DII Women's Cross Country National Coaches' Poll on Wednesday (Oct. 2).
Following a third place overall finish and D2NAIA Division title at the All-Ohio Championships, the women's cross country jumped one spot in the Midwest and moved two spots in the National Coaches' Poll. Walsh is now third in the Midwest Region and up to 11th in the National Coaches' Poll. This the highest national ranking since Week 3 of the 2018 season when the team was tenth. Walsh is one of two G-MAC teams in the Top 25, holding tow one spot behind Hillsdale.
On the men's side, the team held steady from last week, checking in fourth regionally and 17th in the nation. Walsh won the D2/NAIA title and placed third as a team at the All-Ohio Championships last weekend. The Cavaliers are the top G-MAC team in the Midwest Region and the Top 25 poll.
Both teams will compete at the Lewis Conference Crossover on October 12th in Illinois.
