Gina Pinzone (Jr., 5-6, Cleveland, OH/Padua Franciscan) scored a pair of goals as Walsh came from behind to defeat Roberts Wesleyan 2-1 on the road in AMC action Saturday afternoon. The Cavs improve to 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the AMC while the Raiders fall to 5-5.
Roberts Wesleyan struck first with a goal by Mandi Hochheimer in the 7th minute. It took Walsh just 2:37 to answer as Pinzone scored her third goal of the season unassisted. Pinzone added the game-winning goal in the 63rd minute as Molly Martin (Jr., 5-7, Canfield, OH/HS) gave her the assist. Jill Zanney (Sr., 5-11, Brunswick, OH/HS) recorded the win in goal and made two saves on the day.
Overall the Cavs outshout the Raiders 12-8 with a 7-3 advantage in shots on goal. Walsh returns to action this Tuesday as they host the Houghton Highlanders. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
