Cavs Equal Mark in Rout of Fisher

(BOSTON) - Walsh (10-3, 6-2) tied a school record for goals in a single game, and margin of victory, in a 12-0 whitewash of Fisher College in an American Mideast Conference game today. The Cavs also scored 12 goals against Lake Erie College in 1993 and against Carlow College in 2003. In the 1993 game against Lake Erie the Cavs won 12-0.

Molly Martin (Jr., 5-7, Canfield, OH/HS) opened the scoring with her fourth goal of the season off an assist from Liz Broome (So., 5-5, Doylestown, OH/Chippewa) in the seventh minute. Carley Adams (Jr., 5-8, Louisville, OH/HS) scored the next two goals on assists from Colleen Hernan (Sr., 5-4, Poland, OH/Cardinal Mooney) and Lauren Jokovich (So., Canton, OH/Jackson). Jokovich made the score 4-0 on an assist from Gina Pinzone (Jr., 5-6, Cleveland, OH/Padua Franciscan) in the 25th minute. Broome scored next on an assist from Jokovich, and Brittany Kungle (So., 5-4, Copley, OH/HS) rounded out the scoring in the first half with a goal on an assist from Rachel Rucker (So., 5-5, Uniontown, OH/Lake) in the 39th minute.

The second half mirrored the first with another six goals. Adams recorded a hat trick on a goal with an assist from Broome in the first minute of the second half. Broome followed that up with her second goal of the game on an assist from Jokovich to make the score 8-0. Kelly Sklenar (Jr., 5-3, Canfield, OH/Cardinal Mooney) scored her first goal of the season on an assist from Chloe Zidian (So., 5-8, Boardman, OH/HS) a minute later. Hernan put the Cavs in double digits and made the score 10-0 on an unassisted goal in the 59th minute before Emma Engler (Jr., 4-11, Canfield, OH/Cardinal Mooney) closed out the scoring with the final two goals.

Walsh is home to Point Park University for an AMC game on Tuesday at 4 pm.
