(ROCHESTER, N.Y.) - Walsh won its eighth straight match, and improved to 9-1 on the season after defeating Roberts Wesleyan College 2-1 today in an American Mideast Conference game. The win improves the Cavs to 5-0 in the AMC.
Ben Truax (Sr., 6-1, Mansfield, OH/St. Peters) continued his great season scoring both Walsh goals. Truax has a team-leading 12 goals on the season. His first goal, on an assist from Matt Bly (Jr., 5-10, Bellbrooke, OH/HS), gave the Cavs a 1-0 lead at the 33:51 mark. Roberts would rally and tie the game in second half at the 65:21 mark. Truax would strike again, on an assist from George Moga (Sr., 5-10, Akron, OH/Springfield), for the game winner at the 82:38 mark.
Truax is now just one goal behind all-time leader Chris Colllier, who has 44. Ben is fourth in career points with 101.
Walsh outshot the Highlanders 9-6. Keeper Mike Kelley (Jr., 6-0, Chagrin Falls, NDCL) made two saves.
The Cavs are at Houghton College for an AMC game on Saturday at 4 pm.
