Zaleski Beats Clock; Cavs Win 2-1

Walsh scored in the final minute of the game to come from behind and defeat Carlow 2-1 at Milazzo Field Saturday evening. The Cavs improve to 9-2 overall and 5-1 in the AMC. The Celtics fall to 4-7.

Erin Zaleski (Fr., 5-8, Alliance, OH/HS) scored the game-winning goal with 54 seconds remaining on the clock on an assist from Brittany Kungle (So., 5-4, Copley, OH/HS). Zaleski received the ball on the right side of the box and sailed across the goalie to the left corner of the goal. Carlow opened the scoring in the 52nd minute when Alyssa Tlumac scored on an assist from Amanda Cotherman. The lead was short-lived as Molly Martin (Jr., 5-7, Canfield, OH/HS) scored her third goal of the season on an assist from Zaleski 34 seconds later.

Jillian Zanney (Sr., 5-11, Brunswick, OH/HS) had a solid night in goal with six saves on nine shots faced.

The Cavs now go on the road and will visit Daemen on Tuesday, Oct. 11 for a 2 p.m. kickoff.
