Rucker Records Hat-trick in Win Over Fisher

Rachel Rucker (So., 5-5, Uniontown, OH/Lake) recorded a hat trick and helped Walsh cruise to a 10-0 win over visiting Fisher College. The Cavaliers improve to 6-1 overall and 2-0 in the AMC. The Falcons fall to 0-5.

The Cavaliers scored early and often with the first goal coming at the 1:02 mark as Rucker scored the first of her three goals on assist from Molly Martin (Jr., 5-7, Canfield, OH/HS). It sparked a seven-goal half for Walsh as Carley Adams (Jr., 5-8, Louisville, OH/HS), Erin Naumann (Jr., 5-1, Medina, OH/Highland), Chloe Zidian (So., 5-8, Boardman, OH/HS), and Kirsten Gillespie (So., 5-7, Hinckley, OH/Highland) all scored goals. Zidian and Rucker both scored two goals in the first half.

Rucker added a third in the second half, followed by goals by Dawna Natale (Fr., 5-5, North Canton, OH/GlenOak) and Courtney Luebbering (Fr., 5-4, Cuyahoga Falls, OH/Woodridge) to set up the 10-0 final. Jillian Zanney (Sr., 5-11, Brunswick, OH/HS) and Sara Boytim (Jr., 5-8, Springboro, OH/HS) each played a half in goal.

Walsh returns to action on Sunday as the Cavs host Daemen at 1 p.m.
