Cavs Trip Hillsdale

(HILLSDALE, Mich.) - Walsh improved to 9-3 in the GLIAC, and to 9-3 overall with a 6-3 win over Hillsdale College (5-7, 5-7) at the Charger Outdoor Courts today. The win keeps the Cavs in the thick of the GLIAC race, as they travel to Detroit to meet 10-1 Wayne State University at 10 am tomorrow. Wayne State is in third place in the GLIAC, while the Cavs have sole possession of fourth place.

Walsh captured two of three doubles matches and four of six singles' matches to post their ninth win. Daria Bondareva (Fr., Sankt-Petersburg, Russia/HS) won 6-3, 6-1 at second singles, and at second doubles (9-7) with Alisha Angle (Jr., Lexington, OH/HS). Angle also posted a 6-4, 6-3 win at fifth singles. Bondareva is 9-3 in singles action and Angle is 9-2, with nine consecutive wins. They are 8-3 in doubles action.

Sofya Logunova (Fr., Praha, Czech Republic/Russian Embassy School in Prague) won 6-1, 6-3 at first singles and Alona Skobkina (Fr., Tarragona, Spain/Instituto Espan de Andorra) won 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 at fourth singles. Anastasiya Dasik Fr., Kiev, Ukraine/School N 40) and Arina Kravitz (So., Youngstown, OH/Boardman) won 9-8 (5-0) at third doubles.

The Cavs have won nine of their last ten matches.
