(FINDLAY, Ohio) - Sam Mountstephens (Sr., Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, Eng./Westcliff/Bath) goal with 11:05 to play lifted Walsh (1-2, 10) to its first win of the season, 2-1, at the University of Findlay (2-1, 0-2) in the GLIAC opener for the Cavs. Mountstephens snapped a 1-1 tie on an assist from Kain Melville (Jr., South Shields, Newcastle, Eng./Gateshead) as he reached the lower left side of the net.

Walsh's Quebec Gibbins (Sr., Canton, OH/Jackson) opened the scoring on an assist from Chris Lynch (Sr., Bellbrook OH/HS) on header at 16:53.  Walsh would take a 1-0 lead into the locker room.

Findlay tied the game at 66:07 on a breakaway goal from Ryan Poyle.

Justin Nolan (Sr., Medina, OH/Highland/Ashland) stopped six shots for the Cavs, as they were outshot 17-13.

The Cavs open the home season on Tuesday against rival Malone in a 7 pm GLIAC match-up. All Cavs teams are invited to wear their game jerseys on Jersey Roar Night.
