Box Score (FINDLAY, Ohio) - A stout Findlay defense gave Walsh troubles all day as the Cavaliers fell by a score of 47-7 in GLIAC action at Donnell Stadium. By the the time the Cavs' (1-5, 1-5) scored, it was late in the fourth quarter and the Maroon and Gold still trailed the Oilers (4-2, 3-2) by 33 points.
The Cavs' lone score came on seven-yard toss to Jerald Robinson from Jason Fracassa with 6:21 left in the ball game to make the score 40-7. It capped off a short 4-play, 14-yard drive that was set up by a beautiful 66-yard punt return by Jamaris Brown to set up Walsh inside the red zone.
Walsh's offense was largely limited throughout the game other than that score as it generated only 134 total yards. On the opposite end, Findlay seemed to move the ball at will with a staggering 604 yards of total offense.
Most of it came through the air as Oilers quarterback Verlon Reed completed 30-of-45 for 414 yards and three touchdowns. His favorite target was Lloyd Henry who caught 15 balls for 202 yards and a pair of scores.
The Cavs trailed 6-0 after the first quarter, but a 24-0 second quarter by Findlay made the score 30-0 at the half.
Walsh will be back at Fawcett Stadium next week as the Cavs are set to host rival Malone for Homecoming. The game will be played under the lights with action set to kickoff at 6 p.m.
