Box Score (FINDLAY, Ohio) – It took extra time for Walsh to defeat Findlay in a 2-1 decision on the road in GLIAC action Friday afternoon. The Cavaliers improved to 5-7 overall and 3-7 in the GLIAC with the result. The Oilers fell to 3-10 overall and 2-8 in the conference.
Bailey Moody was the player of the game as he scored both goals for the Cavaliers. While the Cavs have given up some early goals in recent games, Moody put Walsh up early with a ball rolled into the right side of the net just 3:23 into the game with John Van Devere providing the assist.
Findlay scored the equalizer on an unassisted goal by Ryan Poyle in the 74th minute to send the game to overtime.
With the initial extra period almost set to expire, Moody scored his second of the game and third of the season on an assist from Sam Mountstephens. The ball was also placed on the right side of the net.
Findlay held the offensive edge in the game with a 14-9 shot advantage and had nine more corner kicks than the Cavs who just had one. The Cavs were also playing with a man down from the 74th minute on.
Walsh will now set its attention to Tiffin. The two squads will meet in Tiffin on Sunday at 1 p.m.
