Box Score (NORTH CANTON, Ohio) – A strong second half carried Walsh to a 2-0 victory over Ohio Dominican on a sunny Sunday afternoon at Milazzo Field. The Cavs (6-9, 4-9) scored both goals in the second half a little more than nine minutes apart to split the season with the Panthers (7-9, 5-8).
Sam Mountstephens figured into both goals for the Cavs. In the first, he centered a perfectly placed ball from the right side of the box to Michael Saddler who eased it in the lower left 90 in the 60th minute. It was Saddler's first goal of his collegiate career.
Just over nine minutes later, Mountstephens hit a laser from just beyond the left side of the box to the far post and past an outstretched, diving Panthers keeper for a 2-0 lead. Brandon Frederick was credited with the assist. It was Mountstephens' eighth goal of the season.
Ayman Youssef made the start in goal for the Cavs and picked up the clean sheet, his second of the year, with five saves on nine shots faced. He is now 5-6 on the season.
Walsh will play its final home game of the season on Halloween against rival Malone. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
